Our Journey: From an Idea to a Community Initiative
Digital Rehnuma began with a personal realisation.
Our founder, Syed, previously worked as a software engineer at a multinational company in Bangalore (India) where he also worked with clients in the education technology (EdTech) sector. Through this experience, he became more aware of the opportunities available to children in some Western education systems, where students are introduced to coding, graphic design, computer science and other technology skills at an early age.
We often hear inspiring stories of children developing websites, creating mobile applications or building technology projects while they are still in school. Such opportunities can help young people discover their interests early, develop confidence and explore careers they might otherwise never have considered.
This made Syed think about Urdu-speaking communities, particularly children and young people who do not have access to similar opportunities because of language barriers, financial difficulties or a lack of formal computer education.
He wondered: What about a student who studies in Urdu? What about a madrasa graduate who has never had the opportunity to learn computer skills? What about a young person who had to leave school because of financial difficulties, or someone who simply does not know where to begin?
Instead of simply blaming the system or accepting these circumstances as destiny, Syed decided to start doing what he could to help narrow this gap.
The Beginning of Digital Rehnuma
In June 2025, Syed launched the Digital Rehnuma Android app on Google Play, with the aim of explaining technology in accessible Urdu. The encouraging initial response motivated him to extend the initiative beyond the app.
In August 2025, he launched the Digital Rehnuma website to make educational resources accessible to a wider audience.
The goal was not merely to translate technical information into Urdu. It was to help people understand technology, discover their interests, develop practical skills and recognise that they, too, could create something useful with technology.
How the Juma Namaz Tool Changed Our Journey
An important milestone came through a conversation with Syed’s friend, Syed Danish. He suggested developing a tool to help people find mosques for Friday prayers and provided mosque data for Aurangabad to help get the project started.
That idea became the Juma Namaz and Masjid Finder tool, which grew into one of the most-used tools on the Digital Rehnuma website.
What began as a practical solution to a community need demonstrated something important: digital tools do not have to be complicated to make a meaningful difference. Sometimes, a simple tool that solves a real problem can be more useful than a large collection of information.
As the tool grew, mosque listings expanded beyond Aurangabad to include other cities, helping more people find useful local information.
The Impact So Far
Google Analytics data recorded between 1 August 2025 and 4 August 2026 showed a combined 9,304 page views across three key Juma and masjid-related pages.
During the same period, the entire Digital Rehnuma website recorded 7,998 active users.
These figures represent page views and website-wide active users, respectively, rather than a verified count of unique users of the Juma tools. Nevertheless, they provide encouraging evidence that practical, locally relevant digital resources can attract real interest and serve community needs.
For us, this is more than a set of analytics figures. It is a reminder that useful technology can begin with a small idea, the willingness to act and people who are prepared to contribute.
Built by People Who Believe in the Mission
Today, Digital Rehnuma has four active team members who contribute their time, effort and personal financial resources to keep the initiative running and help it grow.
We are not building this project simply to publish more content or create another technology website. We want to make technology education more accessible, especially for people who have traditionally had fewer opportunities to learn it.
Our journey is still evolving. We know there is much more to do, and we cannot close every educational or economic gap on our own. But we believe that consistent effort, practical learning resources and collaboration with others can help make a difference.
Digital Rehnuma started with one person’s question about unequal access to technology education. Today, we are working together to turn that concern into useful learning opportunities and digital services for our community.

ہمارا سفر: ایک خیال سے اجتماعی کوشش تک
ڈیجیٹل رہنما کا آغاز ایک ذاتی احساس اور سوچ سے ہوا۔
ہمارے بانی سید بنگلور میں ایک ملٹی نیشنل کمپنی میں سافٹ ویئر انجینئر کے طور پر کام کر چکے ہیں، جہاں انہیں ایجوکیشن ٹیکنالوجی (EdTech) کے شعبے میں کام کرنے والے کلائنٹس کے ساتھ کام کرنے کا بھی تجربہ حاصل ہوا۔ اس دوران انہیں اس بات کا زیادہ احساس ہوا کہ مغربی ممالک کے بعض تعلیمی نظاموں میں بچوں کو کم عمری ہی سے کوڈنگ، گرافک ڈیزائن، کمپیوٹر سائنس اور ٹیکنالوجی کی دوسری مہارتوں سے واقف ہونے کے مواقع ملتے ہیں۔
ہم اکثر ایسی متاثر کن کہانیاں سنتے ہیں جن میں بچے اسکول کی عمر ہی میں ویب سائٹس بناتے ہیں، موبائل ایپس تیار کرتے ہیں یا ٹیکنالوجی کے مختلف پروجیکٹس پر کام کرتے ہیں۔ ایسے مواقع بچوں کو اپنی دلچسپیاں دریافت کرنے، اعتماد پیدا کرنے اور مستقبل کے ایسے کیریئر کے بارے میں سوچنے میں مدد دے سکتے ہیں جن سے وہ پہلے واقف بھی نہ ہوں۔
یہ سب دیکھ کر سید نے اردو بولنے والے لوگوں، خصوصاً بچوں اور نوجوانوں کے بارے میں سوچا جنہیں زبان کی رکاوٹوں، مالی مشکلات یا کمپیوٹر کی باقاعدہ تعلیم نہ ملنے کی وجہ سے ایسے مواقع میسر نہیں ہوتے۔
انہوں نے سوچا: اردو میں تعلیم حاصل کرنے والے بچوں کا کیا؟ ان نوجوانوں کا کیا جو مدرسے سے فارغ التحصیل تو ہیں لیکن انہیں کمپیوٹر سیکھنے کا موقع نہیں ملا؟ ان لوگوں کا کیا جنہیں مالی مشکلات کی وجہ سے تعلیم ادھوری چھوڑنی پڑی؟ اور ان افراد کا کیا جو ٹیکنالوجی سیکھنا تو چاہتے ہیں، لیکن انہیں معلوم ہی نہیں کہ آغاز کہاں سے کریں؟
صرف نظام کو قصوروار ٹھہرانے یا حالات کو قسمت سمجھ کر قبول کرنے کے بجائے سید نے فیصلہ کیا کہ اس فرق کو کم کرنے کے لیے اپنی استطاعت کے مطابق عملی قدم اٹھایا جائے۔
ڈیجیٹل رہنما کا آغاز
جون 2025 میں سید نے ڈیجیٹل رہنما کی اینڈرائیڈ ایپ گوگل پلے اسٹور پر جاری کی۔ اس کا مقصد ٹیکنالوجی کے موضوعات کو آسان اور قابلِ فہم اردو میں سمجھانا تھا۔ ابتدائی طور پر ملنے والے حوصلہ افزا ردِعمل نے انہیں اس کوشش کو ایپ سے آگے بڑھانے کی ترغیب دی۔
اگست 2025 میں انہوں نے ڈیجیٹل رہنما کی ویب سائٹ شروع کی، تاکہ تعلیمی مواد زیادہ سے زیادہ لوگوں تک پہنچ سکے۔
مقصد صرف تکنیکی معلومات کا اردو میں ترجمہ کرنا نہیں تھا، بلکہ لوگوں کو ٹیکنالوجی سمجھنے، اپنی دلچسپیاں دریافت کرنے، عملی مہارتیں سیکھنے اور یہ یقین پیدا کرنے میں مدد دینا تھا کہ وہ بھی ٹیکنالوجی کے ذریعے مفید چیزیں بنا سکتے ہیں۔
جمعہ نماز ٹول: ہمارے سفر کا ایک اہم موڑ
ہمارے سفر میں ایک اہم پیش رفت سید کے دوست سید دانش کے ساتھ گفتگو کے نتیجے میں ہوئی۔ انہوں نے جمعہ کی نماز کے لیے مساجد تلاش کرنے کا ایک ٹول بنانے کا مشورہ دیا اور اس کام کے آغاز کے لیے اورنگ آباد کی مساجد کا ڈیٹا بھی فراہم کیا۔
یہی خیال آگے چل کر جمعہ نماز اور مسجد تلاش کرنے کے ٹول کی شکل اختیار کر گیا، جو ڈیجیٹل رہنما کی ویب سائٹ کے سب سے زیادہ استعمال ہونے والے ٹولز میں شامل ہو گیا۔
اس تجربے نے ہمیں ایک اہم بات سمجھائی: لوگوں کے لیے مفید ثابت ہونے والی ٹیکنالوجی کا پیچیدہ ہونا ضروری نہیں۔ بعض اوقات ایک سادہ سا ٹول، جو کسی حقیقی ضرورت کو پورا کرے، معلومات کے بڑے ذخیرے سے بھی زیادہ کارآمد ثابت ہو سکتا ہے۔
وقت کے ساتھ اس ٹول میں اورنگ آباد کے علاوہ دوسرے شہروں کی مساجد کی معلومات بھی شامل کی گئیں، تاکہ زیادہ سے زیادہ لوگ اپنے علاقے میں مفید معلومات حاصل کر سکیں۔
اب تک کا اثر
یکم اگست 2025 سے 4 اگست 2026 تک کے گوگل اینالیٹکس ڈیٹا کے مطابق، جمعہ نماز اور مساجد سے متعلق تین اہم صفحات کو مجموعی طور پر 9,304 مرتبہ دیکھا گیا۔
اسی مدت کے دوران ڈیجیٹل رہنما کی پوری ویب سائٹ پر 7,998 فعال صارفین ریکارڈ کیے گئے۔
یہ اعداد و شمار صفحات کے دیکھے جانے کی تعداد اور پوری ویب سائٹ کے فعال صارفین کو ظاہر کرتے ہیں، نہ کہ جمعہ نماز ٹول استعمال کرنے والے منفرد افراد کی تصدیق شدہ تعداد کو۔ اس کے باوجود یہ اعداد و شمار حوصلہ افزا ہیں اور ظاہر کرتے ہیں کہ مقامی ضرورتوں کو پورا کرنے والے مفید ڈیجیٹل وسائل لوگوں کی توجہ حاصل کر سکتے ہیں۔
ہمارے لیے یہ صرف اعداد و شمار نہیں ہیں، بلکہ اس بات کی یاد دہانی ہیں کہ ٹیکنالوجی کے ذریعے مفید کام ایک چھوٹے سے خیال، عملی قدم اٹھانے کے ارادے اور تعاون کرنے والے لوگوں سے شروع ہو سکتا ہے۔
ان لوگوں کی کوشش جو اس مقصد پر یقین رکھتے ہیں
آج ڈیجیٹل رہنما کی ٹیم میں چار فعال اراکین شامل ہیں، جو اس منصوبے کو جاری رکھنے اور آگے بڑھانے کے لیے اپنا وقت، محنت اور ذاتی مالی وسائل صرف کرتے ہیں۔
ہم اس منصوبے کو محض مزید مواد شائع کرنے یا ایک اور ٹیکنالوجی ویب سائٹ بنانے کے لیے نہیں چلا رہے۔ ہمارا مقصد ٹیکنالوجی کی تعلیم کو زیادہ قابلِ رسائی بنانا ہے، خصوصاً ان لوگوں کے لیے جنہیں ماضی میں سیکھنے کے مواقع کم ملے۔
ہمارا سفر ابھی جاری ہے۔ ہم جانتے ہیں کہ بہت کچھ کرنا باقی ہے اور ہم اکیلے تعلیم اور معاشی مواقع کی تمام رکاوٹیں دور نہیں کر سکتے۔ لیکن ہمیں یقین ہے کہ مستقل محنت، عملی تعلیمی وسائل اور دوسروں کے ساتھ تعاون کے ذریعے مثبت تبدیلی لائی جا سکتی ہے۔
ڈیجیٹل رہنما کا آغاز ٹیکنالوجی کی تعلیم میں عدم مساوات کے بارے میں ایک شخص کے سوال سے ہوا تھا۔ آج ہم مل کر اس فکر کو اپنی کمیونٹی کے لیے مفید تعلیمی مواقع اور ڈیجیٹل سہولیات میں بدلنے کی کوشش کر رہے ہیں۔
ہمارا سفر جاری ہے، اور ہم آپ کو بھی اس سفر کا حصہ بننے کی دعوت دیتے ہیں۔

A future where every Urdu-speaking person has the opportunity to learn, use and create with technology.
We want school students to discover technology early and explore possibilities such as programming, website development and app creation.
We want madrasa students, school leavers and people who could not afford formal education to discover digital skills that may help them continue learning, find employment or explore freelancing and self-employment.
We want unemployed young people and graduates to develop practical skills that can improve their readiness for the modern workplace.
We want small business owners to understand digital tools, adults to explore new interests and retired people to discover that it is never too late to learn something new.
We believe technology should empower people, not exclude them.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide accessible, practical and easy-to-understand technology education in Urdu, helping people of different ages and educational backgrounds develop digital skills and explore new opportunities.
We work towards this mission by:
- Explaining technology in Urdu: Making computers, the internet, artificial intelligence and other technical subjects easier to understand, while introducing the English terminology used in real-world technology environments.
- Teaching practical digital skills: Helping learners explore computer basics, typing, office software, graphic design, data analysis, programming, website development, IT support and other useful skills.
- Encouraging people to create: Helping learners move beyond consuming technology to building their own websites, apps, designs, projects and digital solutions.
- Supporting career exploration: Providing learning resources, practical projects and guidance that help people understand different IT careers and prepare for employment, freelancing or self-employment.
- Making learning accessible: Offering educational articles, visual infographics, tutorials, downloadable resources and other learning materials that people can use at their own pace.
- Encouraging lifelong learning: Helping people discover that learning technology is possible at any age and from many different educational starting points.
Who Is Digital Rehnuma For?
Digital Rehnuma is for anyone who wants to understand technology but may not know where to begin.
School students: Discover computers, AI, coding, internet safety and creative technology projects while exploring their interests and possible future careers.
Madrasa students and graduates: Learn digital skills alongside their existing education, from basic computer use and typing to graphic design, office applications, data handling and website creation.
School leavers and unemployed youth: Develop practical skills, explore career options and prepare for entry-level employment or self-employment opportunities.
College students and graduates: Strengthen their education with technical knowledge, hands-on projects and skills relevant to today’s digital workplace.

Teachers, parents and educational institutions: Access useful learning resources that can support digital education at home, in classrooms and in computer labs.

- تخلیقی صلاحیتوں کو فروغ دینا: لوگوں کی حوصلہ افزائی کرنا کہ وہ صرف ٹیکنالوجی استعمال کرنے تک محدود نہ رہیں، بلکہ اپنی ویب سائٹس، ایپس، ڈیزائنز، پروجیکٹس اور ڈیجیٹل حل بھی تیار کریں۔

اسکول کے طلبہ: کمپیوٹر، مصنوعی ذہانت، کوڈنگ، انٹرنیٹ کی حفاظت اور تخلیقی تکنیکی پروجیکٹس کے ذریعے اپنی دلچسپیوں اور مستقبل کے ممکنہ کیریئر کو دریافت کریں۔
مدرسے کے طلبہ اور فارغ التحصیل افراد: اپنی موجودہ تعلیم کے ساتھ ڈیجیٹل مہارتیں سیکھیں، جن میں کمپیوٹر کا بنیادی استعمال، ٹائپنگ، گرافک ڈیزائن، آفس ایپلی کیشنز، ڈیٹا مینجمنٹ اور ویب سائٹ سازی شامل ہیں۔
